A first glimpse of our new indoor-outdoor upholstery fabric
Introducing Zephyr, a versatile indoor-outdoor performance fabric that launches next month
The pandemic brought about endless changes in our collective behaviour. One noticeable change in particular was the desire for more indoor-meets-outdoor living, socialising and eating. Countless restaurants, hotels and watering holes added al fresco space to their establishments in the midst of the pandemic to allow us to get together without fear of spreading germs and have retained them ever since.
Our soon-to-launch fabric collection, Zephyr, was born from this new, breezy reality. Often, we find that outdoor-appropriate upholstery fabrics are too ‘plastic-y’ and rugged for indoor applications – what they make-up for in hardiness, they lack in versatility. We wanted to create something that combined the aesthetics and comfort-factor of an indoor fabric with the durability to use outdoors. Zephyr is the result, a subtle two-tone polyester woven fabric that’s waterproof, stain-resistant and colourfast to sunlight. It’s also fire-retardant (to Crib 5 – perfect for commercial use) and features an anti-microbial backing so it won’t mould or mildew if left outside for extended periods of time. You can see some samples in this shadecard mock-up attached, but proper shade cards and samples will be available to share with you before too long.
In brief, Zephyr promises to be as practical and low maintenance as can be; perfect for stylish hospitality projects that combine indoor and outdoor space. We’re looking forward to sharing more details of the fabric with you soon.
