Agua in showrooms: Deadgood, Old Street

Deadgood has designed a series of chairs upholstered in Agua fabric. We spoke to co-founder Dan Ziglam in the brand’s London showroom to find out more

With all of its furniture conceptualised and made in the UK, Deadgood is a bastion of thoughtful, well-executed design. Now in its second decade of business, the brand’s London showroom houses an array of its unique lamps, sideboards, tables, stools and of course chairs. We’re proud to have upholstered a number of the brand’s chairs, all designed in-house, which are now available to view in person at the Old Street location. We caught up with Deadgood co-founder Dan Ziglam recently to discuss the business, the importance of a showroom and why Agua is one of his trusted partners.

What's your role at Deadgood, and what is the company best known for?

As the Founder and Managing Director of Deadgood, I oversee the creative direction, strategy, and overall operations of the company. Deadgood is best known for its distinctive, design-led furniture and interior products that blend British craftsmanship with innovative design. We take pride in creating products that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional and built to last. Our brand is synonymous with bold, playful designs that add character and personality to any space, whether commercial, residential, or hospitality environments.

How does your showroom help prospective clients? How important is it to experience the furniture and fabrics in person?

Our showroom is a crucial part of the Deadgood experience. It allows prospective clients to physically interact with our products, which is essential for making informed decisions about furniture and fabric choices. There’s nothing quite like feeling the texture of a fabric, testing the comfort of a chair, or seeing the true colour and finish of a piece in person. These experiences simply can’t be replicated online. The showroom provides a tactile, sensory experience that helps clients visualise how our products will fit into their spaces, ensuring they’re completely confident in their selections.

What products do you have upholstered in Agua in the showroom currently?

In our showroom, we proudly showcase our Re-Work Module, upholstered in Agua Cord. The colour palette was exactly what we were looking for, enhancing the overall ambiance of the space. The durability, versatility, and range of styles Agua offers make their fabrics an ideal match for our commitment to quality and design excellence.

What is your experience working with Agua, and are there any favourite fabrics that stand out for you?

Working with Agua has been a fantastic experience. They are a great company to collaborate with, offering exceptional service and quick sample delivery while consistently meeting our high standards. Their fabrics combine durability with aesthetic appeal at a great price. One of my personal favourites is Agua Cord. This fabric has a lovely tactile quality and brings a trendy, retro vibe that perfectly complements our basement setting, fitting seamlessly into our design ethos.

Deadgood’s showroom is located at 46 Old St, London EC1V 9AQ. For more information, visit the brand’s website here.
