Case Study: Forest Care’s Elm Lodge

For a recent project completed with Bright Bay Design, we chatted to the company’s director Alexandra Ledger who talks us through the design choices and why she chose Agua.

‘Bright Bay Design assisted Forest Care on the building of their new, 60 bed care home Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire’, says Ledger. ‘We provided full interior design services, working with the architects from the early planning stages to maximise the internal flow and aesthetics and providing the furnishings fitout to fully realise the collective vision for the home.

‘A key focus for the project was to balance the high-quality design aesthetic with robust finishes, furniture and fittings which would meet the complex demands of a care home environment.

‘In particular the use of Agua’s fabric effect vinyl on the upholstered headboards for the beds enabled us to create an up-to-date and homely design for the bedrooms, whilst maximising infection control.’

The fabric used for the headboards was Entwine, one of our best-selling faux leathers. Designed to mimic the subtle texture of hopsack-weave fabrics, it has a hand-woven look that’s incredibly soft and durable. Available in a wide range of colours, it comes with the usual Agua performance qualities, making it fire retardant to Crib 5, antimicrobial and waterproof.
