Trusted Partners: AMH Workspace
As part of our Trusted Partners series, we sat down with Heather Baxter, business development manager of AMH Workspace, to chat interiors and why she enjoys partnering with Agua.
What is AMH Workspace most known for, and what is your role in the team?
Founded in 1984, AMH Workspace is renowned for our expertise in commercial workspace design, fit out and furniture. This year marks our 40th Anniversary, a milestone that fills us with immense pride as we reflect on our journey of transforming workspaces for our valued clients.
In my at role at AMH, I’m the first point of contact with our customers, overseeing projects from inception to completion. My goal is to ensure that the vision we create together is fully reached and the customers expectations are not just met but exceeded.
Can you talk me through a recent project undertaken with Agua? What was the idea for the project?
One of our most recent projects was for NTW Monkwearmouth Hospital, where we designed and furnished over three floors with a mix of office and bistro furniture. We chose Agua for the majority of the furniture items due to the extensive range of options. Agua’s diverse colour palette meant that we were able to show such a wide variety of choices, ensuring our client had plenty of options to choose from.
What did you require for the job?
For this project, we needed a durable and versatile range of furniture that could withstand high traffic while maintaining aesthetic appeal. The requirement was also for fabrics that were easy to maintain and suited to the different functional areas of the space.
Why did you choose Agua for the project?
We chose Agua because its fabrics met our needs for ‘high traffic’ areas, where durability and easy maintenance was essential. The Tones collection, featuring its ‘Aguaguard 365’ anti-microbial technology, provided excellent protection against bacteria and viruses, making it ideal for the environment. Additionally, the fabric’s soft texture and versatile colour options aligned perfectly with our design goals.
What is your experience of working with Agua? How does the team typically help you achieve your goals?
Working with Agua has always been a smooth experience. Fran and the team are incredibly responsive and offer valuable knowledge and guidance on selecting the most suitable fabrics for different styles of furniture.
What are some of your favourite projects undertaken with Agua?
One of my favourite projects using Agua was at The Curve in Newcastle upon Tyne. We transformed the atrium space into a vibrant central meeting space for tenants. The main fabric for this project was from the Primeira collection – a high performing velvet. The client was thrilled with the colour choices, and we collaborated with Davison Highley to create stunning furniture with luxurious finishes.
The combination of deep green, burgundy, blush pink and complementary shades brought the space to life, creating a dynamic environment with both open and private areas.
